Max Thurner - Perlhof

Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2026

First mentioned in a document in 1545, the historic estate is almost half a millennium old. In 2015, the Thurner family acquired the Perlhof, where they have been producing wine since 2021. the vineyard extends over four sites with skeletal quartz porphyry soils and is located on the steep southern slopes of Bolzano. The charming interplay of warm air masses from the Bolzano valley basin and the cool streams from the Isarco Valley create an attractive environment for top-quality viticulture. In addition to classic South Tyrolean grape varieties such as Vernatsch, Merlot is also cultivated.
