Heinrich Hartl III and his wife Marie-Sophie run a fine family winery with 16 hectares of vineyards in the Thermenregion wine region, south of Vienna. Their training and experience in the wine industry culminate in a focus on the highest quality. Thus, it is a conscious decision to remain small and to concentrate on single vineyards. The vineyard area is only expanded when historic vineyards with individualistic characteristics become available.
In a climate where both cool and warm influences meet, the talented winemakers produce both white and red wines of great and certain ageing potential. Elegant reds from Pinot Noir and St Laurent and old Austrian white varieties, such as Rotgipfler, Zierfandler and Traminer, have been growing in this area for centuries.
As they have humility and great respect for nature and their work, Marie and Heinrich's top priority is to farm as sustainably as possible. From 2022, the production has been certified organic for this reason.
Lively, elegant and profound, the Hartl wines are also destined to age and mature. Despite a modern approach, the two continue the long tradition of the region and welcome guests from all over the world to their home.
