The Toni Hartl winery cultivates around 25 hectares of vineyards in two wine-growing regions: the Thermenregion and the Leithaberg. These areas are made up of 50 percent red wine, 38 percent white wine (ten percent of which is flint wine), ten percent rosé and two percent sweet wine.
The knowledge of the different climatic conditions on both sides of the Leitha Mountains and the diversity of the vineyard soils in Reisenberg and Purbach make it possible to give each grape variety the optimal space to thrive. One of the main aims of the vinification process is to bring out the character of each area and its individuality.
New to the range are the Natural Wines: Amphore Ena, Dyo, Furmint and Pet Nat. Another sparkling wine from the "Brut Klassik" range is aged on the lees for around two years after classic fermentation, shaken by hand and then disgorged. In addition to the single-vineyard wines, Pinot Noir from the single vineyard Reysenperg in Reisenberg and Chardonnay from the Thenau vineyard in Purbach, both of which are characterised by their high limey content, are now produced in the reserve range. The wines are only released after three years of ageing and only in exceptionally good years. The reserve range also includes the Blaufränkisch Eisner, which, as its name suggests, comes from vines in a top location on the Leithaberg with a high iron content. The soils in optimal interaction with the respective microclimate form the basis for pressing wines that are typical of the region, physiologically fully ripe, clear and expressive.
Under the motto "It's all just borrowed", we work according to the latest ecological findings. In order to maintain the biological-organic balance, attention is paid to gentle soil care and targeted conservation of beneficial organisms. The winery has been certified organic since 2010 and is a founding member of the "Leithaberg DAC" association. The winery has also been Demeter-certified since 2021.
