The wines from Weinhof Bauer-Pöltl are typical and yet unique. Located in Horitschon in central Burgenland, wine is made here from heavy clay soils. Kathi and Daniel have been implementing their ideas on the subject of simple red wine enjoyment for several years. Daniel completed a classical viticultural education with internships abroad in Italy, the USA and South Africa. Kathi is originally from Tyrol and is a microbiologist and geneticist. She brings momentum to the business with many ideas.
Craftsmanship, sustainability and organic working methods are the basic tools for achieving the high quality of the wines. The leading variety is Blaufränkisch, which occupies 60 percent of the total vineyard area of 16 hectares. The most famous wines are "Domus Petri", Blaufränkisch Hochäcker, Blaufränkisch Vom Lehm, "Christania" and "Altes Weingebirge".
