The Tesch family has made it their profession and vocation to vinify excellent wines. In the municipality of Neckenmarkt in Mittelburgenland, with its deep, loamy soils, they find the best natural conditions for this. And yet it is not only terroir and climate that determine the quality of a wine. It also takes a harmonious interplay of winemaking knowledge, experience and intensive work to produce wines of the highest quality. This "art of winemaking" is more than "just" work for the Tesch family. For them, it is an expression of 'joie de vivre' and life culture, and you can taste it - in excellent wines in which the character of the region and the grape has been "liquefied".
The vineyards of the Tesch family cover a total of about 24 hectares at the foothills of the Ödenburger Mountains. Vines up to 70 years old from typical regional varieties thrive in the vineyards on the Hochberg, on the Weissen Weg and in other top locations. The soil conditions are varied, and each vineyard has its own microclimate and special characteristics. These differences and typicities are brought out in Tesch's wines through the clear and typical development of the grape variety. With about 60 percent, Blaufränkisch plays the main role in the Tesch vineyards. The close-to-nature cultivation, the yield limitation for the best grapes and the careful hand harvest are the basis for the first-class wines. For some years now, the name Tesch, and especially the house wines, have been the talk of the town. In the development of the wines, Tesch is committed to the Mittelburgenland region and focuses on authenticity. The result is wines in which you can taste the close connection to the region.
