The red wine Poggio alle Mura Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Banfi has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dark ruby red in colour. Rich berry fruit on the nose, especially wild berries and blackberries, with a hint of blood orange and dark leather. Undergrowth and rich spice show on the finish. Opens up on the palate with powerful tannins supporting a repeat of ripe wild berry fruit. It's still young, and will mature very well.
