The red wine Poggio alle Mura Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, vintage 2018 from the winery Banfi has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Brilliant dark ruby red. Elegant woody savouriness on the nose, fine earthy tones, cranberries, reminiscent of peach tea and sage in the echo. On the palate with polished, clear, wild berryish fruit, embedded in hearty tannins, slightly loose-knit, albeit with good juiciness, minimal dryness with good drive in the finish.
