The red wine Larchago Edicion Fabulas Reserva Rioja DOCa, vintage 2009 from the winery Bodegas Larchago has been rated in 2019 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Tempranillo from the region Rioja Alavesa in Spain.
This has a complex aroma, with milk chocolate, some oak character, but also raisin, almost a hint of nutmeg, and then herbal savoury notes. On the palate it is classically built, substantial, dense, firm, but also juicy and finely nerved with a discreet minerality in the background. It is a lovely style, gastronomic and full of potential.
