Genügsam und robust ist er, der würzige Cabernet Franc, wenn auch die Traube selbst dünnhäutig ist. Bekannt ist er vor allem als Anteil in den Weinen aus Bordeaux. Er wird selten rein getrunken sondern dient eher als Cuvée. Zu Unrecht vergessen, ist die Rebe doch quasi der Vater des Merlot. Auch hier folgen wir unserem Gedankengut und vinifizieren den Cabernet Franc reinsortig.

Dark berry fruit on the nose, wild blueberry and elderberry, plus allspice and some cardamom as well as dried herbs. Gentle palate with fine fruit, taut acidity and well-integrated tannins, hazelnut and dried chestnuts on the finish.
