The red wine Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio DOCG, vintage 2013 from the winery Castello di Monsanto has been rated in 2018 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Colorino from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Medium bright ruby. An intense and intriguing nose which opens with notes of flint, then lots of cherry and raspberry with hints of coriander. Compact and complex on the palate with lots of cherry and raspberry, grippy tannins, opening up to a very long finish. Full and powerful but needs more time in the bottle.
