The red wine Vigna Il Poggio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Castello di Monsanto has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Shimmering deep ruby colour. Surprisingly intense nose with rich notes of plump cherry, hint of cranberry, along with neat tobacco notes, truly exciting. Swings and sings on the palate, heaps of ripe fruit, cherry and plums dominate, embedded in finely-woven, skilfully-integrated tannin, delicate texture on the finish.
