The red wine Il Poggio Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, vintage 2013 from the winery Castello di Monsanto has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Canaiolo nero, Colorino from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Brilliant, rich ruby garnet. Beautiful grown-up nose with rich notes of blackberries and dark cherries, then lots of licorice, some cinnamon, very inviting. Powerful and dense in attack and progression, showing plenty of dense, savoury tannin, very well placed, ripe berry fruit and subtle earthy notes make for a fine match, very long finish.
