Tasting Notes
Medium golden yellow, silver shimmers, fine, persistent mousse. Ripe yellow apple aromas with yeast and biscuity nuances, a hint of pear, but also white flowers and zest in the bouquet. Very juicy, expressive and creamy in texture, flanked by sound acidity that ensures the corresponding length, mild blossom honey reverberation, dark-slaty minerality on the finish. Enormous maturity and a definite improver!
More about the tastingMedium greenish-yellow, silver shimmers, lively, fine mousse. Gentle nuances of oranges and apricots, a soft nutty touch followed by a slight honey background hint, dark-slaty minerality. Juicy, good complexity, ripe yellow apple nuances, pleasant acidity, discreetly expressive on the finish. Very good ageing potential.
More about the tastingThe 2008 vintage is particularly interesting for die-hard Champagne connoisseurs due to its racy acidity and excellent ageing potential: it remained rather cool during the summer, but good health meant that the harvest could be delayed until the ideal ripeness was reached. The cuvée consists of 50 per cent Chardonnay wines from Grand Cru and Premier Cru communes of the Côte des Blancs, and half Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and the front Marne valley, also from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Delicate yeasty notes, brioche and freshly toasted bread, some white flowers, redcurrant, delicate palate, medium-fine mousse, clear maturity in the supple background, but still quite markedly acidic, steely vintage type with first maturity.
