Tasting Notes
Complex aroma, a hint of graphite and smokiness, very ripe blackcurrant, mint, redcurrant, cranberry, elderberry and sandalwood. A paradox on the palate, enormously soft and delicately round, with a hint of sweetness, yet intensely fruity, not clumsy or drying in its viscous nature, remaining round and harmonious to the end, salinity and a mellow background of soft tannins provide support. Undoubtedly successful, but stylistically very unusual, and to a certain extent postmodern: the fruit seems like a quote from the world of fruit juice without the winey substance that normally accompanies it.
