Deep dark ruby with purple reflections and delicate brightening on the rim. Black berry confit, crème de cassis and liquorice but also tobacco and incense nuances are revealed on the attractive bouquet. Powerful, substantial, velvety with good fruit concentration and a fine acid structure. The supporting tannins are well-integrated with dark fruit; this is a very sappy style of wine with good persistence and excellent potential for ageing well.
