The red wine Sancta Catharina Toscana Rosso IGT, vintage 2016 from the winery Maria Caterina Dei has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot
It has a dark fine ruby red colour. There is lovely cherry fruit on the nose, with delicate balsamic notes, blackberry and mint, light leather, and Mediterranean herbs on the finish, it is a warm-hearted bouquet. It is full-bodied and gripping on the palate, unfolding nicely over the tongue, with beautiful juicy tannins, hearty fruit, and it is long-lasting.
