The red wine Mephisto Val de Loire IGP, vintage 2014 from the winery Domaine de l'Ecu has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Cabernet Franc from the region Loire Valley in France.
Bright ruby, purple reflections, broad watery rim. Dark minerality, black berry fruit, smoky herbal savouriness, a hint of undergrowth, with delicate liquorice in the background. Juicy, red berry, lean and freshly structured, salty nuances, refined and persistent, with very delicate rancio nuances on the finish. It is a vibrant style with a fine tannin touch on the finish, lemony in the aftertaste, and it has good further development potential.
