The red wine Marciliano Umbria Rosso IGT, vintage 2020 from the winery Famiglia Cotarella has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Umbria in Italy.
Dark, shiny ruby red with a purple core and little transparency. Spicy and fruity on the nose, with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice, followed by cherry and black elderberry, underpinned by dried herbs. Still youthful on the palate with plenty of drive, firm acidity and gripping tannins, but with certain ageing potential.
