The red wine Chianti Riserva DOCG, vintage 2019 from the winery Poderi Melini has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dark ruby red color. On the nose ripe blackberries, some elderberries, very dark and savoury, shows delicate hints of malt in the background, also slightly earthy. The palate is very rich, with powerful body and dark, fruit flavors, plus unfortunately rich use of wood, bold, shows little Sangiovese characteristics.
