The red wine Sperss Langhe Nebbiolo, vintage 2008 from the winery Gaja has been rated in 2012 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Langhe in Italy.
Brilliant, rich ruby in colour with a garnet shimmer. Opens with pronounced smoky notes on the nose, followed by lots of wild raspberry and some leather, impressive stuff. There's lots of dense tannin on the palate which builds up richly with a core of ripe, dark fruit. Firm and gripping on the finish, with a supple core.
