The red wine Toro DO, vintage 2018 from the winery Hacienda Terra d’Uro has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points.
Slightly port like notes, but also sour cherry and cocoa bean on the nose, milk chocolate, cinnamon. Some black pepper. You can smell that the port wine zone is not far away. Fine-grained extract on the palate, sweet in the fruit, the alcohol is well hidden behind the juicy elegance that dominates here. The smooth, almost creamy finish is subtly underpinned by minerals.
