The red wine Cuvée Rot, vintage 2022 from the winery III Freunde has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 89+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Regent, Dornfelder , Spätburgunder, Cabernet Mitos from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Ruby red in colour, on the nose a "dark" fruit of cassis and blackberry joins chocolatey aromas. On the palate the wine has a soft attack, the tannins are vivid without being furry, and blend well with the rather supple, fruit-bearing structure. A palate pleaser that hides the vivid fruit well. Also goes slightly chilled in summer (but not cooler than 15 degrees Celsius).
