The red wine Morgon, vintage 2013 from the winery Jules Desjourneys has been rated in 2024 by Peter Moser & Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gamay from the region Beaujolais in France.
The nose reveals savoury cherry fruit subtly accompanied by wood and chocolate notes. The palate opens broad and supple, then a mealy, dense tannin takes hold giving the palate a very unique combination of juiciness, richness and austerity. Medium length, but very good ageing potential.
