The red wine Zweigelt Gainfarn Ried Oberkirchen, vintage 2015 from the winery Leo Aumann has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Lower Austria in Austria.
It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate ochre rim. There is a tobacco-like herbal savouriness, with aromas of black wild berry, dark nougat, and discreet notes of liquorice and orange zest. On the palate it is powerful, with sweet fruit, a chocolaty texture, ripe tannins, and a spicy minerality on the finish. It will benefit from further bottle ageing.
