The red wine Monprivato Barolo DOCG, vintage 2020 from the winery Mascarello Giuseppe e Figlio has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Clear ruby garnet colour. Finely characterised, inviting nose that opens with notes of fresh raspberry, plus some rosehip and rose petals. Also sweet tobacco in the background. Extremely juicy on the palate, with very well-developed fruit and lots of raspberry, then fine-meshed, polished tannins. Builds up more and more as it progresses, with firm drive on the finish.
