The red wine Sasseo Primitivo Salento IGT, vintage 2016 from the winery Masseria Altemura has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
Intense, powerful ruby red with a flint core. The nose has a slight hint of sealing wax, then lots of red berries, redcurrants and raspberries, ripe tones, some undergrowth and mushrooms, slightly lactic on the finish. Very concentrated and multi-layered on the palate, compact with tightly woven tannins, full-bodied, spans an elegant arc, ending on fruity nuances in the finish.
