Tasting Notes
There is subtlety here and many notions assail the nose: is it polished ebony, is it conifer? Is it tea or cassis? Plum or blueberry? Then there is earth and freshly turned soil. This just shimmers. The palate also likes to tease with its aromatic secrets but the structure says it all. There is density, firm, drying tannin that gives real structure. This is supported by vivid freshness and the fruit – blueberry in the end – is gracious and pure. This needs bottle age but is most promising.
