The red wine Südtiroler Lagrein Riserva DOC, vintage 2015 from the winery Pfannenstielhof has been rated in 2018 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Impenetrable, almost black ruby red. A multi-layered nose of cassis and black elderberries, also slight hints of liquorice with more liquorice in the echo. Plucky and robust on the palate with great fruit sweetness in the middle range, expands nicely, finishes with finely meshed tannin, long and persistent on the finish.
