The red wine Capàro Toscana Rosso IGT, vintage 2020 from the winery Podere Colle Castagno has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Montecucco in Italy.
Dense purple in colour. Deeply scented on the nose, with cherry compote, candied pineapple, and chestnut, accompanied by nuances of balsamic. The palate is grippy and fresh with plenty of juice, opening on the midpalate with Amarena cherry, with a slight aftertaste on the finish, seems a bit young.
