The red wine Leon Riserva Barolo DOCG, vintage 2008 from the winery Rivetto dal 1902 has been rated in 2014 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Barolo in Italy.
Rich, deep dark garnet colour. Intense, exciting nose, smells of earth and truffles, some cardamom, then lots of plums, sealing wax in the background. Dense, compact tannins on the palate, lots of ripe, dark fruit, builds up full, lots of firm drive, earthy, long finish.
