The red wine Blankenhornsberg Doktorgarten Spätburgunder, vintage 2014 from the winery Staatsweingut Freiburg has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Baden in Germany.
Still some wood on the nose, as well as gingerbread, nut nougat, sweet almonds and herbs. Juicy on the attack, it's sinewy with taut but ripe tannins and a well-integrated natural acidity. Subtle texture and a multi-layered, complex and savoury finish which again brings the juicy character to the fore.
