Tasting Notes
Clear, rich ruby colour. Intense and finely marked nose, smells of currants, wild raspberries and macchia herbs, some olive paste. On the palate superb, showing lots of flint acidity, lively and deep, builds nicely, very compact, lots of accessible fruit, plus finely meshed, well matured tannins, tobacco on the finish, skillfully combines power and elegance.
More about the tastingMedium ruby-garnet color, violet reflections, broad rim brightening. Delicately tobacco-like on the nose, hints of cherry and cassis with a fine animal touch, delicate herbal spice. Rather delicate on the palate, medium-bodied, extracts sweet and mineral, good freshness, fine nutty notes, strawberry jam on the finish, probably some residual sugar in play, dried apricot, a little too much for me personally, seems somewhat unbalanced in this phase. (88 - 25th rank)
