The red wine Petraia Merlot di Toscana IGT, vintage 2018 from the winery Uggiano has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Brilliant dark ruby red. Strongly leathery-savoury nose, black tea, undergrowth, truffle and cigar box, rich blackberryish fruit on the finish. Filling on the palate, with a delicate vegetal vein, very fruity and spicy, then full tannins with drive on the finish, unfortunately a little broad-meshed.
