The red wine Vigna La Fornace Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Villa Calcinaia - Conti Capponi has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
It has a rich and dark ruby colour with a slight garnet sheen. There is an intense nose, opening with slightly resinous notes, then lots of plum, cherry compote, as well as some dark chocolate. The palate is very dense and concentrated, with gripping finely woven tannins, and slightly alcoholic notes on the finish which make it seem very hot.
