The white wine Riesling Smaragd Ried Spitzer Singerriedel, vintage 1988 from the winery Weingut Franz Hirtzberger has been rated in 2017 by Martin Kilchmann, Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Wachau in Austria.
The very first Singerriedel Smaragd: bright yellow gold in colour with green reflections. On the nose, fine nuances of petrol, subtle hints of grapefruit zest and a touch of fresh ginger, underpinned with some lemongrass and fresh mint. The palate is juicy, with fine yellow stone fruit nuances, discreet sweetness, an elegant structure full of finesse, a pronounced, well-integrated tannic note and peach, tropical fruit and a touch of lemon and eucalyptus evident on the finish. The wine remains stable and fresh even after a long time in the glass.
