The white wine Chardonnay St. Morand, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Gebrüder Mathis has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Baden in Germany.
Medium golden yellow in colour. The nose is still influenced by the ageing in barriques, with quite dark spice, chamomile and dried mango slices to the fore. It's voluminous and broad on the palate, with a slightly sweetish wood note and some pepper notes. It's a robust wine with substance and also a certain power, finishing on notes of rum raisins and green walnut allied to strong mineral tones. Very young, and will continue to develop.
