The white wine Ungstein Herrenberg Riesling trocken, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Gebrüder Bart has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Some smoke and flint on the nose, along with a spiced and sweet-tart balance of cardamom, peach and Mirabelle plum. Smooth on the palate with soft texture and ripe acidity, whilst the subtle residual sweetness blends well into the chalky minerality that provides energy and tension. Character does not have to be loud.
