The sweet and dessert wine Schilfwein »The Red One«, vintage 2008 from the winery Weingut Gerhard Nekowitsch has been rated in 2011 with 92 - 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Pale, opaque carmine red colour, broad watery rim. Fine cherry and strawberry flavour, smoky savouriness, dark mineral notes. Full-bodied, creamy texture, sweet wild berry confit again, fine tannins, lingers long, ripe cherries on the finish, shows good length and balance.
