The sweet and dessert wine Schilfwein The Red One, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut Gerhard Nekowitsch has been rated in 2012 with 92 - 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Light, sooty brick red colour, broad watery rim. Smoky, hints of dried plum, dark berryish fruit, candied orange zest. Juicy, again dried fruit, honey, silky body, sweet and persistent, fine herbal savouriness on the finish, some nougat in the aftertaste.
