The red wine Eichkogel, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Kollwentz has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Dark ruby-garnet. The nose opens with tobacco and oak and then reveals wild berry fruit, black cherry and tangerine zest. The palate is juicy with well integrated tannins, blackberry and tense minerality. Slightly salty on the finish which is long and refreshing. Will make a good food companion
