The red wine Eichkogel, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Kollwentz has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Deep dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, Inviting aromas of fresh cherry, a hint of nougat, subtle hints of liquorice, and candied orange zest. The palate is juicy, and elegant, with powerful, well-integrated tannins, ripe plum fruit and a mineral, chalky finish, with a hint of red berries. Already approachable, it will benefit from bottle ageing.
