The red wine Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder GG, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Krone Assmannshausen has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Rheingau in Germany.
On the nose there is a slatey savouriness, along with herbal spicy notes, and a slight pepperiness, but also aromas of fruit, including cranberry, and rosehip. On the palate it is equally silky and powerful, and it is juicy, fruity, with an intense tactile minerality, a layer of creaminess, and excellent length. It is very elegant.
