Tasting from 13.09.2024: Ulrich Sautter

This Sauvitage from Baden has a very deep, lemon yellow hue in the glass. The fact that both Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris are present in the blend is already noticeable on the nose. There is yellow gooseberry as well as pear and quince, all kept ripe. Juicy and almost creamy on the palate with the same fruit flavours, plus a fresh kick of acidity. Not exactly a paragon of complexity, but well done.
