The red wine Neusiedlersee DAC Reserve Ried Zeiselberg, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Kummer has been rated in 2020 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Dark ruby garnet with purple reflections, delicately brighter at the rim. Dark fruits of the forest confit underlaid with cardamom and star anise. Delicately savoury, somewhat tobacco-like with hints of orange peel. Juicy, elegant palate with velvety tannins, well-integrated acidity, figs on the finish and a salty aftertaste. Powerful food companion.

Dark chocolate on the nose is underlaid with dark forest berry jam, a hint of vanilla and a somewhat tobacco-like aroma, as well as fresh orange zest. Juicy and elegant, with velvety tannins and well integrated structure. Figs on the finish and a salty aftertaste, there's good ageing potential on show here.
