The red wine Sonnenbichl, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Lanz has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Cabertin from the region Württemberg in Germany.
This wine from Lake Constance in Bavaria is one of the kings of red Piwis. Dark purple colour like a young St-Emilion in the glass and on the nose with notes reminiscent of a combination of plummy Merlot and savoury Cabernet Franc. There is almost a salty touch on the tip of the tongue before the red fruit and slightly green herbs spread out. Very well vinified, only the depth of old vines is still missing.
