It has a dark ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There is a discreet tobacco-like underlay of lovely fine oak spiciness, as well as aromas of black berry, some liquorice, mint and tobacco, and ripe plum in the background. It is juicy, with ripe cherry, good freshness, ripe tannins, minerality, and good persistence. It is a versatile food wine with ageing potential.
