Behind wood savouriness, aromas of rosehip, currant, dark cherry, bay leaf and clove open up in the intense bouquet, also peppery. Spreads broadly across the palate, where dense fruit, precise acidity and ripe, contouring tannins work well together, underpinned by incisive chalky minerality. Long, imposing and with good perspective.
