The red wine Blauer Arbst Rheinischer Landwein, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut P. M. Metzler has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blauer Arbst
Smoky new wood dominates the fragrance. There are also notes of plum, thyme and buttery notes. The palate is filled with a supple, grounded body with grainy, slightly clinging tannins, good phenolic ripeness, with strong alcohol and ripe acidity. The wine still has a pronounced structure, but undoubtedly has all the assets for a mellow, savoury development in the course of bottle maturation.
