The red wine Chatus, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut P. M. Metzler has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chatus
Elderberry, liquorice and thyme, also menthol - a savoury aroma. On the palate the wine has a supple base, deep, somewhat dry tannins fill the broad frame, ripe acidity, intense mineral notes and quite strong alcohol complete the impression. Very individual - and very full of ageing potential.
