The white wine »Fumé« Sauvignon Blanc trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Pieper has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Mittelrhein in Germany.
Although clearly labeled as "Fumé", there is little wood and a lot of Sauvignon Blanc on the nose: gooseberry, grapefruit, kept ripe. Full-bodied on the palate, but also characterised by the acidity typical of the variety, orange and liquorice, still needs a little time.
